The car show will be indoors in a beautiful climate controlled facility!
The Kentucky Exposition Center opened its newly renovated North Wing in October 2007. Formerly called the East Wing, the old facility was demolished and totally rebuilt. At a cost of $55 million, the new exhibit space has 215,000 square feet, 27-foot ceilings, a large loading dock with overhead doors. The wing is connected to a new, 35-square-foot lobby designed to register and serve thousands of convention goers. It can be used for sit-down dinners for up to 2,500 people or for receptions. Overlooking the lobby is a mezzanine containing meeting rooms and a VIP suite. The North Wing brings the Expo Center’s Class A exhibit space to 800,000 square feet. The Expo Center has about 1.2 million total square feet. The Expo Center has added major new exhibit space every three or four years dating to 1992, when the first phase of the South Wing opened. Prior to the North Wing completion, the most recent expansion was completed in 2005 when South Wing C opened.
