General Description:

This tour takes you first to the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor at Fort Knox. Here you will see Patton’s Cadillac staff car, ivory-handled pistols and lots of tanks and other armored equipment. Continue on down the road to Bill Swope’s Auto Museum. Bill has many fine cars, quite a few of which have won AACA awards. After those tours, stop off in Glendale for lunch at one of the quaint restaurants that sit right by the train tracks that run through town. There are also a dozen antique and gift shops. On your way back, visit the Coca-Cola Museum or stop off at Bernheim Forest for a restful activity.

Travel Description:

Take four lane US 31W south. The Patton Museum, Swope’s Museum and the Coke Museum are on US 31W. Glendale is about 10 miles south of Elizabethtown. Bernheim Forest is just off of US 31 W. This is an easy drive except one hill just before you get to Fort Knox. It could be a second gear for an old car but most will make it in high.
