49-13_2.jpg - Vol. 13 No. 2-June 1949  Ever since Albert Mecham, the photographer of Highwoods, Illinois, pointed his heavy glass-plate 4x5 Premo at Barney Oldfield in the old dirt track circuit era, he has been building up a rare collection of photos from the earliest days of "automobolism". We are informed by member Thomas M. Galey that the car of the cover of the March issue is a 1903 White Steamer, then owned by Thomas Hartley of Pittsburgh. In the September issue, you will learn the make and year of the car on the cover of this issue.
